The Wedding Collaborator Sydney Winter Wedding Styled Shoot - InterContinental Sydney Double Bay
I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph a Sydney styled shoot just prior to Sydney’s latest lockdown during 2021. The aim was to focus on small and intimate weddings for up to 30 guests. The concept was a winter harbourside city romance with an elegant, modern French Twist. What is a styled shoot? A styled shoot is collaboration between a team of wedding industry vendors to create a conceptual wedding setting, in exchange for images to promote their work. Styled shoots can highlight a full wedding or smaller elopement wedding style via venue, ceremony setting, and reception area. It can also include all the trimmings like flowers, styling, stationary, wedding cake and wedding dress and attire to simulate a real wedding. The benefits are real! Vendors can flex their creative muscles to create images that can be used for wedding magazines and blogs, for social media platforms, and marketing and advertising! It’s a great way to meet other creatives and experiment with new ideas too. The concept of the Sydney winter wedding styled shoot was brought to life by Wedding Academy graduate Fiona of The Wedding Collaborator. She provides premium event planning & design services to Sydney couples & their families, collaborating with quality venues, vendors & suppliers in the wedding industry. The venue was the stunning luxury InterContinental Sydney Double Bay Hotel located in the leafy Eastern Suburbs village of Double Bay. Known for its ‘European” feel, both the interior and exterior locations provided the perfect backdrop to bring the concept to life. With the luxury vibe, all the wedding vendors bought their 'A' game. The courtyard was transformed into the perfect small wedding location with rattan furniture and elegant modern styling. A dreamy tablescape exuding a sophisticated colour palette of earthy winter hues was conceptualized by @theweddingcollaborator. @simply.seated provided the furniture and styling. From the Oatmeal Linen Tablecloth, Eggplant Linen Napkins, to the Clear Beaded Charger Plates and Beige Entree and Main Course Plates, the look was simply divine. With Peterson Arch Blush menus and place cards, tied with gold ink ribbon by @thinkcalligraphy and stunning florals in a perfectly-elevated white vessel from @dragonflyfloraldesign the table was complete! Our couple for this small wedding styled shoot were Arielle & Juilan. With flawless hair and makeup by @belindahairstylist, exquisite jewellery by @RonzaGeorge_jewellery, stunning wedding gowns by @lillimarcs, and dapper suits from gentlemen's clothier @mjbale, Arielle & Julian looked incredible! I especially love the playful cake cut of the eye catching creative cake creation by @by.gigi!
